The Baseball Bat is a melee weapon found in almost every Grand Theft Auto game since GTA III (2001), including Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV, Chinatown Wars, GTA V and GTA Online. It is cheap or free, usually lying near baseball fields or safehouses, and in GTA V it ranks among the strongest melee weapons.

In the 3D games, two hits usually floor a pedestrian or officer, while San Andreas needs three, according to GTA Wiki.

In San Andreas, drivers sometimes climb out with a bat after CJ rams their car. In GTA Online the bat is not a regular shop item; GTA Wiki says it turns up in some missions and was once given away free by the Gun Van.

Which missions feature the Baseball Bat?

Early missions often use it as a starter weapon. GTA III gives one to Claude in Don't Spank Ma Bitch Up, and San Andreas does the same in Cleaning the Hood, an early Grove Street job. In GTA IV, Vlad offers Niko a bat in Bull in a China Shop, but Niko does not use it. In GTA V, one lies on stage at the concert venue during Mr. Philips, the first Trevor mission.
