GTA San Andreas girlfriends
CJ can date six women in GTA San Andreas: Denise, Millie, Helena, Katie, Michelle and Barbara. Two are met in story missions; the other four you find after The Green Sabre or Yay Ka-Boom-Boom, and some only like CJ with the right body stats. Raising a girlfriend's progress gives a car at 50% and an outfit at 100%, plus perks like keeping weapons when wasted.
How does dating work in San Andreas?
Each girlfriend has a progress meter. Going on dates at the times she is free, taking her to places she likes and giving gifts raises it. Some only agree to meet CJ if his muscle, fat or sex appeal stats match what they like. At 50% a girlfriend gives a car, and at 100% she gives an outfit. The GTA Wiki notes that Denise and Millie, who are met in missions, cannot be dated again if they leave CJ or die.

Which girlfriends give the most useful perks?
Katie and Barbara are the favourites for many players. With Katie, CJ leaves hospital without losing his weapons or paying a fee. With Barbara, being busted no longer costs his weapons. Helena's barn holds a pistol, a chainsaw, a flamethrower and Molotov cocktails. Michelle resprays cars at her garage for free.
Any tips for particular girlfriends?
Denise likes it when CJ does drive-bys on rival gang members during a drive. Michelle lets CJ drive her car on dates, and he must stay in it for the date to work. Millie is met in Key to Her Heart, where she can also be killed instead of dated. For the main story, see GTA San Andreas missions.
