A Revenger's Tragedy is the last story mission of Grand Theft Auto IV (2008) if you pick the Deal ending. After Roman's death, Niko and Little Jacob chase Dimitri Rascalov from Alderney to an abandoned casino, then by boat and helicopter to Happiness Island, where Niko kills him. Completing it finishes the story.

What is A Revenger's Tragedy in GTA IV?

It is one of the two final missions of Grand Theft Auto IV. Near the end of the game Niko Bellic must choose between making a deal with Dimitri Rascalov or taking revenge on him. Choosing the Deal leads to Mr. & Mrs. Bellic, in which Roman is killed at his own wedding, and then to this mission. The Revenge path ends with A Dish Served Cold instead. Our GTA IV missions hub explains both routes.

What happens in the car chase?

Little Jacob waits for Niko in a Cognoscenti in Alderney. He has spotted Jimmy Pegorino's men in a Huntley Sport and thinks they will lead to Pegorino. Niko takes the wheel and follows them along the highway to an abandoned casino in the north of the state. The mission fails if Pegorino's men are killed during the chase or get away, so the trick is to keep up rather than shoot.

What happens at the casino?

At the casino Niko tells Jacob to stay back, saying he will do this for Roman. He fights through the guards and reaches Dimitri, who has been working alongside Pegorino. Dimitri shoots Pegorino and runs to a helicopter on the roof. Niko tries to grab hold as it lifts off but is knocked into the water, landing beside a speedboat.

How does the boat and helicopter chase end?

Niko follows Dimitri's helicopter down the river by boat while rockets fall around him. Jacob arrives in an Annihilator, Niko climbs aboard and takes the controls, and the chase moves to the air over Algonquin. Jacob's gunfire sets Dimitri's helicopter alight, but a rocket hits Niko's at the same moment, and both crash on Happiness Island. Niko then hunts down Dimitri and shoots him.

In the final cutscene Niko lists Dimitri's betrayals and the death of his cousin before Dimitri dies. Jacob reaches him and tells him it is over. The ending is quiet and downbeat, with Niko grieving for Roman.

What do you get for completing it?

These rewards come from gta.wiki. The mission also fails if Jacob dies, if Dimitri escapes, or if the key vehicles are destroyed.

Any tips for A Revenger's Tragedy?

Gta.wiki's walkthrough gives a few pointers. In the car chase, focus on driving cleanly instead of shooting, because the target must survive and the Cognoscenti rolls easily on tight corners. In the helicopter section, the mounted guns are a waste of time, since Dimitri's aircraft cannot be shot down by the player; staying high and following it is safer, and hitting a tower in Algonquin ends the attempt.

Is the Deal ending the wrong ending?
