Buzzard (GTA)
The Buzzard is a small, fast attack helicopter armed with machine guns and rockets. It debuted in The Ballad of Gay Tony (2009) and returned in GTA V and GTA Online as the Buzzard Attack Chopper, made by Nagasaki. In GTA V it costs $2,000,000 or can be taken from the NOOSE headquarters; an unarmed police version also exists.
What is the Buzzard in GTA?
The Buzzard is a compact gunship with a two-person cockpit, stub wings carrying weapons, and a camera and searchlight on the nose. It first flew in The Ballad of Gay Tony (2009), the second episode of GTA IV. In GTA V (2013) it returned under the full name Buzzard Attack Chopper, and it has been a workhorse of GTA Online ever since.
According to the GTA Wiki it is quick and agile, with a listed top speed of about 135 knots, and its small size lets it land in tight spots that bigger helicopters cannot reach. The GTA V version adds room for two passengers in the back. Because it is cheap, fast and armed, many Online players treat it as their first serious combat aircraft.
Where do you find the Buzzard in GTA V?
The GTA Wiki lists these options for story mode:
| Method | Details |
|---|---|
| Warstock Cache & Carry | Buy it for $2,000,000 |
| NOOSE headquarters | On the roof in Palomino Highlands; can be taken without a wanted level |
| Fort Zancudo | Parked at the military base |
| Cheat | Same button pattern as the old Rhino tank cheat, slightly changed |
Codes for each console are listed in GTA cheats.
Which GTA V missions use the Buzzard?
The Buzzard appears in many story missions, often in enemy hands. The GTA Wiki lists Three's Company, The Merryweather Heist, The Bureau Raid (roof entry), The Wrap Up, The Third Way and the obvious approach to The Big Score. It is flown by groups such as the FIB, the IAA, the military and Merryweather.
How much is the Buzzard in GTA Online?
In GTA Online it costs $1,750,000 on Warstock Cache & Carry and is then called in through Pegasus Lifestyle Management. The GTA Wiki says it was once locked until rank 43, a limit removed in the Cunning Stunts: Special Vehicle Circuit update. A CEO or VIP can also call one in for $25,000 (no charge when they own one), which made it a common sight during business missions.
Is there an unarmed Buzzard?
Yes. GTA V and Online also have a plain Buzzard with no weapons, used by police and NOOSE. It can be found on police station roofs and is sometimes seen patrolling South Los Santos at night. In Online, a motorcycle club's Road Captain can request one for $1,000.
