Cesar Vialpando
Cesar Vialpando is the leader of the Varrios Los Aztecas and one of CJ's closest allies in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004). Kendl Johnson's boyfriend and Catalina's cousin, he uncovers Big Smoke and Ryder's betrayal, helps bring down the Loco Syndicate and survives to the end of the story. Clifton Collins Jr. voices him.
Who is Cesar Vialpando?
Cesar Vialpando runs the Varrios Los Aztecas, a Hispanic street gang in Los Santos, in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The GTA Wiki treats him as the game's tritagonist, behind Carl "CJ" Johnson and Sweet, and describes him as a gunrunner who worked his way up to lead the gang. He is a skilled driver with a soft spot for lowriders.
Wikipedia names him as the boyfriend of Kendl Johnson, CJ's sister. Sweet distrusts him and dislikes the relationship, which makes Cesar's loyalty to the Johnson family all the more important over the course of the story. The GTA Wiki notes that he is also the cousin of Catalina, the woman who later betrays Claude in GTA III.
How does CJ meet Cesar?
CJ first meets Cesar at a lowrider meet in the mission named after him. According to the GTA Wiki, Cesar's gang members are ready to fight the newcomer, but Cesar calls them off. The two men become friends and then partners, finding common cause in their opposition to the drug trade that is tearing Los Santos apart. Wikipedia's plot summary lists the alliance with Cesar as one of the ways CJ rebuilds the Grove Street Families.
What does Cesar do in "The Green Sabre"?
Cesar is the one who exposes the traitors. The GTA Wiki says he watches a Ballas hideout from a parked car and sees Big Smoke and Ryder meeting the Ballas and the corrupt officer Frank Tenpenny. Wikipedia confirms that he witnesses the meeting and joins CJ in the fight that follows. Afterwards he asks CJ to keep Kendl safe.
What happens to Cesar during CJ's exile?
Cesar does not abandon CJ when Tenpenny drives him out of the city. The GTA Wiki lists a rented trailer in Angel Pine as a temporary home for him, linked to the mission "King in Exile". There he introduces CJ to his cousin Catalina, which starts CJ's brief and stormy time with her in the countryside. Our Catalina page covers that part of the story.
Cesar then follows CJ to San Fierro. Wikipedia says he helps run CJ's chop shop and fights alongside CJ and the Triads to destroy the Loco Syndicate's drug factory. The GTA Wiki adds that he is present when CJ kills Ryder in "Pier 69" and that he later helps the car business get hold of sports cars.

Does Cesar marry Kendl?
The game stops short of a wedding. In "Los Desperados", after CJ helps the Aztecas retake their territory, Cesar tells him he plans to propose to Kendl. The GTA Wiki says CJ gives his blessing but tells Cesar to talk to Sweet as well. By the end of the game Cesar is alive and well, and he is among those at the Johnson house after Tenpenny's death.
What is Cesar like?
The GTA Wiki paints him as kind, loyal and protective, especially of Kendl and of his difficult cousin. He keeps his word to CJ throughout. He also has a short fuse when plans drag on, and one mission shows that he is afraid of heights.
Who voices Cesar Vialpando?
Cesar is voiced by the actor Clifton Collins Jr. Wikipedia lists him in the cast of San Andreas, and the GTA Wiki gives the same credit. Cesar appears only in San Andreas and its remaster, The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
