Donald Love
Donald Love is a property developer and media tycoon in Liberty City. In Grand Theft Auto III (2001) he hires Claude and has him kill Kenji Kasen to start a Yakuza-Cartel war that lowers land prices, then disappears. He has a cameo in Vice City and a large role in Liberty City Stories. Kyle MacLachlan voiced him in GTA III.
Who is Donald Love?
Donald Love owns the Love Media group and builds property in Liberty City. GTA Wiki describes him as cold and self-serving. He learned the property trade from Avery Carrington, and he turns up as a young, mostly silent figure in Vice City, which is set in 1986.
What does Donald Love do in GTA III?
In Grand Theft Auto III he becomes one of Claude's bigger employers on Staunton Island. Wikipedia says he first has Claude free an elderly prisoner taken by the Cartel. He then sends Claude to kill Kenji Kasen of the Yakuza, so that a war between the Yakuza and the Cartel will drag down property prices.
GTA Wiki lists his missions as including Liberator, Waka-Gashira Wipeout!, A Drop in the Ocean, Grand Theft Aero and Decoy. In the last of them, Love's Disappearance, the old man and a package tied to Love's plans both vanish, and so does Love.
Donald Love in Liberty City Stories
Liberty City Stories, set in 1998, shows him earlier in his career. GTA Wiki says he runs for mayor and uses Toni Cipriani for dirty work, including killing his old mentor Carrington to take his plans for Fort Staunton. GTA Wiki lists missions such as Steering the Vote and Love on the Rocks.
What happened to Donald Love?
His fate is unknown. GTA Wiki notes he disappears in October 2001 along with the old man, and Rockstar has never explained it. The same source mentions hints in the games that he is a cannibal.
