Wave 103 is the new wave station of Vice City. In GTA Vice City (2002) Adam First plays synth-pop and post-punk such as Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "Two Tribes" and Nena's "99 Luftballons". In Vice City Stories (2006) he is joined by Trish Camden. It kept all its songs in the Definitive Edition.

What is Wave 103?

Wave 103 is the station for the cooler, more European side of 1980s pop: synthesisers, drum machines and British post-punk bands. It is the counterpart to the chart sound of Flash FM, and gta.wiki notes that the two are the favourite stations of one of Vice City's street gangs.

Who hosts Wave 103?

In Vice City the DJ is Adam First, a deadpan presenter who acts as though most music is beneath him. In the 1984-set Vice City Stories he co-hosts with Trish Camden.

Why is it called Wave 103?

The name points to new wave music. According to gta.wiki it also nods to Wave 102, a former radio station in Dundee, the Scottish city where DMA Design, later Rockstar North, was founded.

Did Wave 103 lose any songs?

No. gta.wiki says Wave 103 is the only station from the original Vice City to keep its full playlist in The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. Others, including V-Rock and Fever 105, lost a track each. The game also hides a nod to Nena in the form of 99 red balloons to find.

How was the Vice City radio received?

Wikipedia notes that critics widely praised the radio of Vice City and felt the licensed 1980s music suited the setting. Epic Records sold the station music as a seven-album box set released alongside the game in October 2002, and the talk radio grew to roughly three times the amount in GTA III.
