Bravado (GTA manufacturer)
Bravado is a fictional American car maker in the Grand Theft Auto series, first seen in GTA IV (2008). It is based on Dodge, and its bull logo echoes the Ram emblem. Its best-known models are the Banshee sports car, the Buffalo saloon, the Gauntlet muscle car and the Bison pickup, which closely follow the Viper, Charger, Challenger and Ram.
What is Bravado in GTA?
Bravado is the series' big-engined American brand. According to the GTA Wiki, most of its range is heavy saloons, muscle cars and light trucks, many with V8 engines. The name fits: bravado means a showy display of boldness. See the GTA vehicles hub for how the fake brands fit together.

Which real car brand is Bravado based on?
Dodge. The GTA Wiki says almost the whole line-up maps onto Dodge models. The bull's-head logo looks like the Ram badge Dodge used on its trucks from 1993, and names such as Buffalo and Bison continue the horned-animal theme. The brand slogan, "United we stand, together we fall", twists a well-known saying.
There is satire in the background too. In-game TV and news in GTA V describe Bravado being rescued by the government with public money and then asking for more, a send-up of the car industry bailouts of 2008 to 2010, as the GTA Wiki explains.
Bravado first turns up in GTA IV, released on 29 April 2008 according to Wikipedia. The brand then carries on through the handheld Chinatown Wars, GTA V and GTA Online, which keeps adding new models with its updates. Wikipedia notes that the cars of GTA IV are not copies of any single real vehicle but mix elements of several with the developers' own ideas, and the brand system grew out of that approach.
What are the best-known Bravado cars?
| Model | Type | Main real-world inspiration (GTA Wiki) |
|---|---|---|
| Banshee | Sports car | 1996–2002 Dodge Viper |
| Buffalo | Saloon | Dodge Charger |
| Gauntlet | Muscle coupé | 2008–2014 Dodge Challenger |
| Gauntlet Hellfire | Muscle coupé | Dodge Challenger SRT Demon |
| Bison | Pickup truck | Dodge Ram / Ram 1500 |
| Gresley | SUV | Dodge Durango |
| Youga | Van | Dodge Ram Van |
| Rumpo | Van | Ford E-Series and Chevrolet Express |
The Banshee is the most famous name here. It is older than the brand itself, appearing in earlier games before GTA IV gave it a Bravado badge. The Buffalo is the other workhorse: police and FIB versions of it are common in GTA V and GTA Online.
Is every Bravado a Dodge?
Nearly, but not quite. The Rumpo van takes cues from Ford and Chevrolet vans, and the Verlierer sports car resembles European specialist cars rather than anything from Dodge, according to the GTA Wiki.
