Deluxo
The Deluxo is Grand Theft Auto's version of the DMC DeLorean. It first appeared as an ordinary sports car in Vice City (2002) and Vice City Stories. In GTA Online it returned on 12 December 2017 with the Doomsday Heist update as an Imponte car that can hover and fly, with machine guns and homing missiles, for $5,750,000.
What is the Deluxo in GTA?
The Deluxo is a wedge-shaped coupé modelled on the stainless-steel DeLorean of the early 1980s. It fits the 1980s setting of Vice City and Vice City Stories, where it is an everyday road car. Decades later GTA Online turned it into a car that can leave the ground altogether.

Which games is the Deluxo in?
| Game | Year | Version |
|---|---|---|
| Vice City | 2002 | Four-wheel-drive sports car; quick but behind the Infernus and Cheetah |
| Vice City Stories | 2006 | Rear-wheel-drive road car |
| GTA Online | 2017 | Imponte hover car with flight mode and weapons |
The GTA Wiki notes that the car does not appear in San Andreas, though a Deluxo silhouette is used for that game's mission Trip Skip icon. It is not part of the single-player GTA V story.
What real car is the Deluxo based on?
The DeLorean is the obvious model in every version. The GTA Wiki says the 3D-era car adds a rear end and spoiler that look borrowed from the Ferrari F40. The GTA Online car is a closer copy of the DeLorean, with a nose that recalls the Volkswagen Corrado and rear details taken from the first Nissan 300ZX.
How does the flying Deluxo work in GTA Online?
The Online Deluxo has three modes: a normal car, a hover mode that lifts it just above the ground or water, and a flight mode. According to the GTA Wiki, hover mode tops out at about 143 km/h and flight at about 127 km/h, and the nose cannot pitch up more than 20 degrees while flying, so it climbs slowly. It handles better as a hovering getaway car than as a plane.
Weapons are an optional upgrade fitted in the vehicle workshop of a Mobile Operations Center or an Avenger. The package costs $198,000 and adds two forward machine guns plus homing missile launchers holding 30 missiles.
How do you get the Deluxo in GTA Online?
It is bought from the Warstock Cache & Carry website for $5,750,000. Leading the Signal Intercepts setup of the Doomsday Heist unlocks a trade price of $4,312,500. Plain Deluxos are also driven in that heist's prep and setup missions. It later became a prize on the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel during an April 2020 event.
The Deluxo paved the way for other flying vehicles such as the Oppressor Mk II, which arrived eight months later and took over its reputation for causing trouble in free mode.
