Oppressor Mk II

The Oppressor Mk II is a flying motorcycle made by Pegassi in GTA Online. It arrived with the After Hours update on 14 August 2018 and can hover, glide, boost and fire homing missiles. Its speed and weapons made it a favourite tool for harassing other players, so the press often calls it the game's most hated vehicle. Rockstar has weakened it several times and raised its price to $8,000,000.

What is the Oppressor Mk II?

It is a wheel-less hover bike for GTA Online, the successor to the earlier Oppressor, which drove on wheels and could glide. According to the GTA Wiki, Rockstar added it on 14 August 2018 during a week of the After Hours nightclub update. The bike floats over roads, hills and water, can spin on the spot, and unfolds small wings when the rider pulls up, letting it fly. A rocket booster gives short bursts of extra speed.

It is sold on the in-game Warstock Cache & Carry website, but upgrades are only possible in the vehicle workshop of a Terrorbyte, a command truck from the same update. Buying a Terrorbyte and finishing five of its Client Jobs unlocks a lower trade price.

What weapons does the Oppressor Mk II have?

The GTA Wiki lists two forward machine guns as standard. Owners can swap these for explosive guns or add a pair of homing missile launchers holding 20 missiles in total. Chaff, flares and smoke are available as countermeasures against lock-on weapons. The homing missiles are the reason for most of its fame.

Why do GTA Online players hate the Oppressor Mk II?

The bike is quick, small, cheap to call in and hard to hit, and it can lock on to anyone. That made it ideal for griefing: chasing down players who are running sales or missions in free mode. Kotaku, writing in July 2022, called it the ultimate griefing machine and noted that many players had feared, from its 2018 launch, that it would wreck free mode. Headlines on GamesRadar and GGRecon label it the most hated vehicle in the game, and the GTA Wiki records the same criticism.

Not everyone agrees. Players who use it to grind missions against computer enemies value it as the fastest way to cross the map, and Kotaku reported that many of them were relaxed about nerfs that mostly hit player-versus-player use.

How has Rockstar nerfed the Oppressor Mk II?

DateUpdateChange
11 December 2018Arena WarFixed a speed exploit
12 December 2019The Diamond Casino HeistFive-minute cooldown on calling in a new bike; lock-on fix
26 July 2022The Criminal EnterprisesLess accurate missiles; fewer flares and chaff, longer cooldowns

GGRecon reported on 28 April 2023 that Rockstar raised the price because some vehicles had outsized utility, performance or firepower. The GTA Wiki dates the increase to the Los Santos Drug Wars era. The bike is also banned from heists and Time Trials.
