Mr. & Mrs. Bellic is the second-to-last story mission of Grand Theft Auto IV (2008). Roman Bellic marries Mallorie Bardas at a church in Suffolk, Algonquin, with Niko as best man. It is the one mission both endings share, but the shooting outside the church changes: in Deal Roman is killed, in Revenge Kate McReary dies.

What is Mr. & Mrs. Bellic in GTA IV?

Mr. & Mrs. Bellic is the wedding of Roman Bellic and Mallorie Bardas, and the penultimate story mission in Grand Theft Auto IV. The day before, Roman phones Niko and asks him to turn up rested and on time, since he is the best man. The ceremony takes place at a church in Suffolk, Algonquin. Our GTA IV missions page shows where it falls in the story.

According to gta.wiki, this is the only mission that appears on both branches of the game's ending. What Niko chose in the mission before decides how the wedding day ends.

How does the Deal ending play out at the wedding?

If Niko agreed to work with Dimitri Rascalov for Jimmy Pegorino, Kate McReary refuses to come along. Niko goes alone, the vows are said and the guests celebrate on the steps. A hitman sent by Dimitri then walks up behind Niko with a pistol. Niko fights him for the gun and kills him, but a shot fired in the struggle hits Roman, who dies.

Niko reacts with rage at the body until Little Jacob pulls him away and promises to find Dimitri. The next morning Jacob calls with a lead in Alderney, which starts the last Deal mission, A Revenger's Tragedy.

How does the Revenge ending play out at the wedding?

If Niko turned the deal down and went after Dimitri instead, Kate is pleased with his choice and asks to be collected for the wedding. The player drives her to the church, and the talk in the car depends on how close the two have become. After the ceremony Pegorino drives past and opens fire on the crowd with a rifle, aiming for Niko. Kate is hit and dies on the spot.

Niko blames himself and lashes out at Roman. The following day Jacob and Roman have tracked some of Pegorino's men, and the meeting leads into Out of Commission, the Revenge finale.

Is Mr. & Mrs. Bellic a playable mission?

Only just. Gta.wiki describes it as a mission made up mostly of cutscene. In Deal the player simply drives to the church; in Revenge there is also the pick-up of Kate. It can still be failed by dying, getting arrested, missing the ceremony or scaring the guests, and in Revenge by frightening or losing Kate. There is no cash reward.

Why does this mission matter so much?

The wedding is where the cost of Niko's choice arrives. In one branch he loses the cousin he came to Liberty City to see; in the other he loses the woman who wanted him to leave crime behind. Wikipedia's plot summary of Grand Theft Auto IV describes both outcomes, and the moment is the emotional peak before each finale. Gta.wiki also lists radio and newspaper reports of the shooting heard in the game afterwards.
