Who is OG Loc in GTA San Andreas?

OG Loc is a neighbour of Carl "CJ" Johnson on Grove Street in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. According to the GTA Wiki his real name is Jeffrey Cross. He always wanted to be part of the Grove Street Families, but the gang never really took him seriously, and he spent short spells behind bars for small-time offences.

His talent does not match his confidence. Other characters laugh at his lyrics, and the GTA Wiki notes that the radio host Katie Zhan even calls him "OG Joke". That gap between ego and ability is the joke that runs through all his scenes.

Which missions does OG Loc appear in?

Loc first shows up when he is released from prison and the Grove Street crew of CJ, Sweet, Ryder and Big Smoke collect him. As a condition of his parole he has to work at a Burger Shot. From there he hands CJ a string of jobs aimed at building his music career at the expense of the real star, Madd Dogg.

How does OG Loc's rap career work out?

For a while it works. Wikipedia's plot summary says CJ stole the rhyme book and killed the manager to help Loc's career take off. The GTA Wiki adds that Big Smoke used Loc's record deal to launder drug money, and that Loc put out a single album, Str8 From Tha Streetz, in 1992, along with a clothing line.

The success ends in "Cut Throat Business", one of the last missions of the game. By then CJ has become Madd Dogg's manager, and the two go to Blastin' Fools Records, where CJ shows the label boss Jimmy Silverman that Loc's lyrics were stolen. The GTA Wiki says this ends Loc's career and that nobody knows for sure where he went afterwards.

Who voices OG Loc?

Wikipedia's cast list credits Jonathan Anderson as the voice of OG Loc, and the GTA Wiki gives the same name. The character had a different name during development; the GTA Wiki lists an early version called "MC Strap".

Does OG Loc appear in later games?

Not in person. The GTA Wiki notes that a separate version of OG Loc exists in the HD Universe, where he is only mentioned in GTA IV and GTA V. In that timeline nobody exposed him, so his music career carried on.
