Vice Point is the northern part of the beach island in Vice City, seen in Vice City (2002) and Vice City Stories (2006). GTA Wiki calls it the city's most populous neighbourhood and links it to North Beach in Miami Beach. It holds North Point Mall, the Malibu Club nightclub that Tommy Vercetti can buy, Shady Palms Hospital and a police station.

Where is Vice Point?

Vice Point covers the whole northern stretch of the beach island in Vice City, north of Washington Beach. GTA Wiki describes it as a mostly middle-class, residential area. Tall apartment blocks and hotels line the sand, and smaller houses and low-rise flats fill the streets behind them. The wiki also says it has more residents than any other part of the city.

What is Vice Point based on?

GTA Wiki ties Vice Point mainly to North Beach, the northern end of Miami Beach, with its big beachfront hotels and quieter homes further inland. Its shopping centre, North Point Mall, appears to be modelled on Aventura Mall in Aventura, Florida, according to the same wiki.

What is North Point Mall?

North Point Mall sits at the north end of the district and is one of the main indoor locations in Vice City. GTA Wiki describes a two-storey building with an H-shaped floor plan, a glass-roofed atrium crossed by a footbridge, escalators and a multistorey car park. The car park is laid out much like the Newport car park from GTA III.

Shops in 1986 include the anchor store GASH, a branch of Ammu-Nation, the hardware shop Tooled Up, the record store Vinyl Countdown, a jeweller and a food court with outlets such as Burger Shot. An Infernus stands on display as a raffle prize, and GTA Wiki notes it can be stolen but not driven out of the building. The store owners pay protection money to Tommy's gang, and the story missions Shakedown and Cop Land take place in the mall.

In Vice City Stories, set in 1984, the building is called Vice Point Mall. GTA Wiki says it had more shops at that point, with Flyingdale's as the anchor store, and space-themed decorations including a hanging replica of a lunar lander. It hosts the mission Brawn of the Dead and a BMX side job called Mashin' up the Mall.

What is the Malibu Club in GTA Vice City?

The Malibu Club is a nightclub on the southern edge of Vice Point. GTA Wiki says it is based entirely on the Babylon Club from Scarface (1983). Tommy Vercetti can buy it for $120,000 once the mission Shakedown is done. Upstairs, a planning board shows the inside of the El Banco Corrupto Grande bank, which leads into a heist mission called The Job.

After The Job, the club becomes an asset earning $10,000 a day. GTA Wiki notes that buying it is not needed to finish the story, but it is required for 100% completion, and that the heist may be a homage to the film Heat (1995). In 1984 only the outside of the club exists, and the wiki says the radio station Fresh FM broadcasts from it.

What else is in Vice Point?

The district has its own hospital, Shady Palms, and the Vice Point Police Station sits further north. In the 2002 game a construction site run by Avery Carrington and a dirt bike track called the Vice Point Sand Track are found here. Vice City Stories replaces the track with a fairground shared with Washington Beach, complete with a big wheel called the Chunder Wheel.

What shops and pickups are in Vice Point?

The streets are full of businesses. GTA Wiki lists a Pay 'n' Spray, the sports shop Jocksport, a jeweller, a pizza parlour and a pharmacy called the Dispensary in the 1986 version. Weapons are scattered around too: a knife on the second floor of the Malibu Club, a meat cleaver, a Tec-9 and a pistol at the Avery construction building. Several story missions pass through, among them Jury Fury and Demolition Man, which leaves a building near Star View Heights in ruins. The mall alone holds a good share of the collectibles. GTA Wiki places two rampages and four of the 1986 hidden packages inside North Point Mall. In the 1984 version, two red balloons are hidden in the mall, one by a palm tree and one under an escalator.

Which safehouses are in Vice Point?

GTA Wiki lists El Swanko Casa as a safehouse in Vice City and The Clymenus Suite as one in Vice City Stories.

Is Vice Point in GTA 6?

Rockstar has not named Vice Point in any official material for GTA VI. The areas it has named so far include Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the Tisha-Wocka flea market, the VC Port, Southside, Stockyard and Washington Beach. Our Vice City page keeps that list up to date.
