The game is set in 1992, and the playlist is built almost entirely from West Coast rap of the late 1980s and early 1990s, the music of the Los Angeles area that inspired the game's city of Los Santos. The GTA Wiki says idents and callers present it as the more popular of the game's two hip hop stations, the other being Playback FM. For all the game's stations, see the GTA radio stations hub.

If Carl Johnson neglects his girlfriend Denise, she rings the station and Julio passes her message on.
