The Tec-9 is an automatic pistol in Vice City, San Andreas and Liberty City Stories. In San Andreas it costs $300 at Ammu-Nation after Doberman, and at Hitman skill CJ can fire two at once. GTA V and GTA Online later added a similar gun, the Machine Pistol, with the Lowriders update, priced at $6,250.

What is the Tec-9 in GTA?

The Tec-9 is a small automatic gun that sits in the submachine gun slot alongside guns such as the Uzi-style Micro SMG. GTA Wiki groups it with the later Machine Pistol of the HD games as one weapon line. It is cheap, carries a large magazine and can be fired from a vehicle, which makes it a natural drive-by gun. Where is the Tec-9 in Vice City?

Vice City does not sell it. GTA Wiki places a pickup behind a house in a quiet cul-de-sac in Vice Point, over the bridge west of the pizza restaurant. Compared with the Uzi it fires more slowly but holds 50 rounds. With the cheat that arms pedestrians, the Tec-9 becomes one of their most common guns, according to GTA Wiki.

Where do you get the Tec-9 in San Andreas?

In San Andreas it is sold at every Ammu-Nation once the mission Doberman is done, for $300, or 20% more in Las Venturas. There are two well-known free copies. One sits on the roof of Sweet's house on Grove Street, which needs a helicopter or some roof jumping to reach. The other appears inside the Johnson house after CJ has sprayed all 100 gang tags.

GTA Wiki adds that Grove Street Families members are armed with Tec-9s from Robbing Uncle Sam onwards, then switch to better guns once all tags are sprayed.

Can you dual wield the Tec-9?

Yes, but only in San Andreas. When CJ reaches Hitman skill with it he holds one in each hand, and the magazine doubles from 50 to 100 rounds. GTA Wiki notes that the Tec-9 shares its skill with the Micro SMG, so practice with one counts for both, and that its fire rate rises sharply when shooting from a car.

What is the Machine Pistol in GTA V?

The Lowriders update brought a Tec-9-style gun to GTA V and GTA Online under the name Machine Pistol, made by the in-game brand Vom Feuer. GTA Wiki says it is limited to the newer console and PC releases. In story mode it unlocks after Hood Safari and costs $6,250; Online sells it from rank 1. It holds 12 rounds by default, with a 20-round clip, a 30-round drum (Online only) and a suppressor sold separately.
