Vlad Glebov
Vlad Glebov is a Russian loan shark in Grand Theft Auto IV (2008). Roman Bellic owes him gambling money, so he makes Niko Bellic do jobs to cover it. When Niko learns Vlad has been sleeping with Roman's girlfriend Mallorie, he kills him in the mission "Uncle Vlad". Misha Kuznetsov voices him.
Who is Vlad Glebov?
Vladimir "Vlad" Glebov is the first real enemy Niko Bellic makes in Grand Theft Auto IV. Wikipedia calls him Roman's loan shark and says he forces Niko to work for him. The GTA Wiki (gta.wiki) places his birth around 1967 in the Soviet Union and says he came to Liberty City with Faustin's crew in the late 1990s.
He operates out of Comrades Bar in Hove Beach. According to the same wiki, his trade is lending money and collecting protection payments, mostly in Broker, and he acts as debt collector for Mikhail Faustin.
Why does Niko work for Vlad?
Roman has run up gambling debts, and Vlad uses them as leverage. Soon after Niko arrives in 2008, Vlad has him do jobs such as squeezing shopkeepers for protection money. The GTA Wiki notes that one of these, "Ivan the Not So Terrible", lets the player spare the target.
Why does Niko kill Vlad?
Wikipedia explains that Niko turns on Vlad after finding out he slept with Mallorie, Roman's girlfriend. The GTA Wiki says the affair had gone on for around three years. In "Uncle Vlad", Niko confronts him at the bar, chases his car through the city and shoots him under the Algonquin Bridge. According to that source the body goes into the river and is never found, so the police list him as missing.
The killing has fast consequences. Faustin's men kidnap Niko and Roman in response, which is how Niko comes to meet Mikhail Faustin and Dimitri Rascalov.
