Last Stand is the final story mission of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (2006). Given by Ricardo Diaz, it sends Victor Vance in a Hunter helicopter against the Mendez Building, then up its floors to a rooftop standoff where he kills Diego Mendez and Jerry Martinez. It pays $5,000 and unlocks the Hunter.

What is the last mission in Vice City Stories?

The story of Vice City Stories ends with Last Stand. Victor Vance finally goes after the two men behind most of his troubles: his former army sergeant Jerry Martinez and the cartel boss Diego Mendez. What happens in Last Stand?

Wikipedia's plot summary says Vic, working with Diaz and Phil Cassidy, takes an army helicopter from Fort Baxter for the attack. In the mission Vic flies a Hunter to the Mendez Building in Downtown and circles it, clearing guards from the ledges while dodging rockets. gta.wiki says the helicopter is eventually shot down, and Vic jumps onto the roof just before it explodes.

From there he works through the building by the stairwell, floor after floor, chasing Diego as he runs for the top. Martinez arrives in a helicopter of his own, and Vic has to fight off its gunners and destroy it. The finale is a three-way standoff on the roof: Martinez points a gun at Vic, Diego turns on Martinez, and Vic kills both of them.

According to gta.wiki the mission fails if Vic dies or is arrested, or if the Hunter is destroyed before the outside guards are dealt with.

How does Vice City Stories end?

After the fight Lance lands, too late to help, and pitches one more drug deal. Wikipedia says Vic turns him down and says he is finished with drugs; the brothers agree to leave the city and send money to their brother Pete for his medication. Players of Vice City know this calm does not last, since Vic dies in the 1986 deal that opens that game.

gta.wiki describes it as the last storyline mission of the 3D era by release, though not the last in the timeline; that place goes to The Exchange in Grand Theft Auto III.
