Port Gellhorn

Updated · Fan site. Not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.

Port Gellhorn is a run-down coastal region of Leonida in Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar calls it the state's forgotten coast: a former holiday spot of cheap motels, closed attractions and empty strip malls that the tourists never came back to. Rockstar has not named a real-world model. GTA VI is due on 19 November 2026.

What is Port Gellhorn in GTA 6?

Port Gellhorn is one of the six regions Rockstar names for Grand Theft Auto VI, with Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. Rockstar's region text, published on 6 May 2025 and reproduced by Press Start and Game Informer, calls it "Leonida's forgotten coast".

The story it tells is one of decline. Port Gellhorn used to be a popular place for a holiday. Now it is a strip of cheap motels, attractions that have closed down and shopping malls with nobody in them, and the tourists have not come back. Rockstar jokes that a new local economy has grown up in their place, kept going by malt liquor, painkillers and energy drinks from the truck stop. The same text points to dirt bikes as the way to get around.

Game Informer read the description as a hint that the two leads, a couple who make their money outside the law, will find work there. Rockstar has not said which missions, if any, take place in the region.

Where is Port Gellhorn?

The word "coast" in Rockstar's text is the only location clue it gives. It has not said which stretch of coast, and it has not published a full map or region borders. Maps that circulate online are fan-made or drawn from old development footage, so we do not use them. Our GTA 6 map and regions page tracks what is official.

What is Port Gellhorn based on?

Rockstar has not said. Wikipedia links three regions to real places (Vice City to Miami, Grassrivers to the Everglades and the Leonida Keys to the Florida Keys) but lists Port Gellhorn only among the additional locations, with no real-world model. Comparisons with particular Florida towns do circulate online, but we could not find Rockstar or a reputable outlet confirming any of them, so we leave them out. The origin of the name is also unconfirmed.

Is Port Gellhorn a city like Vice City?

Rockstar's text describes a faded seaside town rather than a second big city. In the earlier Florida games, Vice City and Vice City Stories, the action never left Vice City itself. Port Gellhorn is one of the clearest signs that GTA VI also covers small-town Leonida. Grand Theft Auto VI is due on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This article is based on pre-release material, and details may change in the finished game.
