Mount Kalaga National Park
Mount Kalaga National Park is the wilderness region on the northern border of Leonida in Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar promotes it for hunting, fishing and off-road trails, with thick backwoods home to people who would rather stay out of the government's sight. Rockstar has not named a real-world model. GTA VI is due on 19 November 2026.
What is Mount Kalaga National Park in GTA 6?
It is one of the six regions Rockstar lists for Grand Theft Auto VI, with Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia. Rockstar's site labels the region simply "Mount Kalaga", while its descriptions and the press use the full name, Mount Kalaga National Park.
Rockstar's region text, published on 6 May 2025 and reproduced by Press Start and Game Informer, sells it as room to breathe on the state's northern fringes. It calls the park a national landmark right up against Leonida's northern border, surrounded by lush backwoods. It also says the backwoods are home to back-country mystics and paranoid radicals who live there to stay out of the government's view.
Can you hunt and fish in GTA 6?
Rockstar's Mount Kalaga text advertises "prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails", so all three are part of how the park is pitched. Game Informer suggested the trails may hint at side activities. Rockstar has not explained how any of these work in play.
In a September 2026 exclusive, Game Informer reported that Leonida will have more than 170 animal species, some never seen in a Rockstar game before, and that certain rare animals can be tracked. It did not tie those animals to Mount Kalaga. Confirmed and reported features are kept apart on GTA 6 features.
Was there hunting in earlier GTA games?
Yes, in GTA V. GTA Wiki describes hunting there as a side activity open only to Trevor Philips, unlocked after he meets the hunter Cletus Ewing in the mission "Fair Game". It takes place in the wilderness around Mount Chiliad, the big mountain of Blaine County, and the targets include elk, coyotes, boar, cougars and birds. Mount Kalaga gives GTA VI a comparable wild area at the far end of its own state.
What is Mount Kalaga based on?
Rockstar has not said. Wikipedia links Vice City, Grassrivers and the Leonida Keys to real places but lists Mount Kalaga National Park only among the additional locations, without a real-world model. Fan sites offer their own comparisons, but we found no Rockstar statement or reputable report confirming one, so we leave them out.
Where is Mount Kalaga on the map?
On the northern border, according to Rockstar, which makes it the region whose position its texts state most clearly. It has not published a full map or the park's size. Our GTA 6 map and regions page tracks what is official. Grand Theft Auto VI is due on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
